Poppy Seed Head Stake – Large Seed Head

Keep year-round structure and interest in the garden with this decorative poppy seed head stake.

Made from steel and cast aluminium with an antique pewter finish, these are great for spiking into borders and beds to bring cheer to the garden long after plants have died back for winter.

They’re also ideal for ‘marking the spot’ with bulbs and dormant plants so you don’t unearth them in your digging enthusiasm!

Each stake is finished with a coat of matt lacquer and has a tapered stem for easy insertion into the soil. Simple screw-fit assembly required.

With age and exposure to the elements, the metal will oxidise to produce a more rustic finish. This process will occur more quickly in areas where the powder coating has been breached.

In damp conditions, natural salts may leach out of the cast aluminium head to produce a frosted appearance. To treat, wash and brush with a nail brush, dry off well and rub down with an oily cloth, or alternatively leave for a natural aged effect.

Please note: these individually handmade and finished stakes may include some sharp points or edges. Take care when unpacking and assembling them and position in a quiet spot off the beaten track. When pushing the stake into the ground, hold the lower part of the stem and push. Do not put all your weight on the seed head.
